Son of Ramon and Emilia Gisbert, he was born December 5, 1944, in Puerto Padre, a town in the province of Oriente, Cuba.
Manuel was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 56 years, Luisa, his loving daughters, Melinda Gisbert, her husband Max Perez, Michele Glawe, her husband Josh, and Christine Joseph, her husband Andrew. He has five cherished grandchildren, Daniel, Ava, Max, Madelyn, and Sean. Manuel is survived by his best friends—older brother, Miguel, his wife Mirta, and twin brother Mario.

He met his wife Luisa at Rockaway Beach, Queens, and they married in 1967. Manuel and Luisa enjoyed traveling the world and had a love for cruises. When they weren’t enjoying their time at sea, they loved being with family and watching their grandchildren play soccer, football, basketball and compete in gymnastics and karate.
Manuel graduated from George Washington High School where he proudly played baseball. He dedicated over 40 years to his career, which was highlighted by 28 years at The CIT Group where he retired as Assistant Vice President in data processing. He was well known for organizing an annual raffle for his colleagues, which grew exponentially over the years, bringing much joy and excitement to participants.
An avid sports lover, Manuel’s passion was golf, a game requiring great patience and skill. He was also a gifted tennis player and captain of the CIT softball team. He loved listening to music and always had a playlist ready to go. He was giving, loving, an amazing role model and led by example. He was a good person who made those around him happy.
