O.D. Roseby, 76 passed away peacefully on April 30, 2024, in Little Rock, Arkansas. O.D. was born on January 8, 1948, to Johnnie Roseby and Odessa Garman Roseby in Little Rock, Arkansas. O.D. grew up in Wrightsville, Arkansas which was the center of togetherness, laughter, and family. To many in the community he is affectionately known as “Payne”. O.D. served in the United States Army. He was a Fireman with the Little Rock Fire Department for many years. O.D. was a member of Hoover Baptist Church and loved going to church and spending time with his family.
O.D. was a friend to all and welcomed everyone to share the space he called home. The best times were at his home on West 13th Street were any day of the week you could see him outside washing one of his many cars or talking to his brother Layman.
O.D. is preceded in death by his father Johnnie Roseby, mother Odessa Garman Roseby, sisters Claudine Roseby Wilson, Gwendolyn Roseby Onyemelukwe and brothers Layman Roseby, Sr and Detrix Roseby.
He leaves to cherish his memories, sons Oshun Roseby and Dexter Roseby, Sr both of Little Rock, Ar. Daughters, Dawn Dandridge of Mansfield, Tx and Netra Adams of Columbia, SC. Bonus children Nigel Austin of Little Rock, Ar and Jasmine Ross of Lancaster, Tx.
Six grandchildren, five great grandchildren Sisters: Ossie Rosby Young, Linda Roseby Bowen, Mae Roseby Buckley and Phyllis Roseby Watson. Brothers Edward “Doc” Rosby, O.T Roseby, Ivan Roseby Sr, and Bernard (Faye) Roseby Sr, all of Little Rock, Arkansas. A very special aunt Georgia Carey, host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
A visitation for O.D. will be held Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will occur Friday, May 10, 2024 at 9:30 AM at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Funeral Home, 5800 W 12Th St, Little Rock, Arkansas 72204.
