Gladys Lenore Campbell, 86, of Little Rock passed away April 26, 2024. She was born June 27, 1937 in Meta, Kentucky to the late Earl and Mary (Parsons) Conley. In addition to her parents, Gladys was welcomed into Heaven by her husband, Don Campbell; her son, Robert Benson; grandson, Gabriel Salazar; brother, Richard Conley; and two sisters, Martha Charles and Dorothy Oberling.
Gladys' life was marked by warmth, kindness, and resilience. She had a gentle spirit, always ready with a smile and a laugh. Her quiet strength and unwavering positivity left an indelible mark on all who knew her. A devoted Christian, Gladys found solace and community at Geyer Springs Church of Christ, where she worshipped faithfully for many years. She exemplified the values of compassion and selflessness, caring for her husband, Don, with unwavering dedication during his illness.
In her younger years, Gladys was known for her talent in the kitchen, delighting her family with beautifully decorated cakes for special occasions like birthdays and weddings, and sewing clothes with care and love. She cherished the traditions of family gatherings, especially hosting Christmas Eve celebrations that created lasting memories for generations.
Before retirement, Gladys dedicated over three decades of her life to serving her community as a cataloger at the Downtown Little Rock public library. Her commitment to her work and her passion for learning touched countless lives and enriched her own.
Those left to cherish the memories of Gladys include her children, Kelly (Chris) Course and Brian Benson; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Janet Kendrick and Lawrence Conley.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m., Wednesday May 1, 2024 at Griffin-Leggett Healey & Roth Funeral Home. Visitation will begin thirty minutes prior, 9:00 a.m., at the funeral home. Gladys will be laid to rest with her husband following the service at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander.
