E. Louise, 86, of Lincoln passed away on April 30, 2024. Born November 4, 1937, in Lincoln, NE, to Elvern and Esther (Curtis) Conard.
She graduated from Northeast High School and then attended the University of Nebraska to study Music and play the Cello. She also earned a minor in Teaching.
While traveling with her parents in Turkey, she met Claude, an Airman with the US Air Force at church. They stayed in touch after she returned to the US. Claude eventually asks her family’s permission to marry Louise. They were married in Lincoln at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in September 1961. Claude was still with the Air Force and was stationed in Italy after they were married. Mark was born on April 24, 1964, and they all traveled through Europe (Italy, France, Germany, Belgium). They came back to the US in 1969 to live in Lincoln, NE. Claude was stationed at the ROTC at UNL and Louise worked at Valentino’s. Karen was adopted in 1971. Kim was adopted from S. Korea in 1974 when Claude was stationed there. Louise held several different administrative assistant positions at St Elizabeth Hospital ER and the Lancaster County Health Dept. from where she retired in 1996.
Claude & Louise were members of St. John’s Catholic Church in Lincoln. She served as their Music Choir Director for many years.
Louise became interested in showing Shelties at Dog Shows from a good friend. She showed and raised several generations of Shelties, Schipperkes, and Min Pins with friends and with her kids. Claude and Louise eventually moved to Arizona to retire from the cold seasons of Nebraska. Claude passed away in 2018, and Louise moved back to Nebraska to be with her family.
Louise is survived by her Brother: Richard (Cathy) Conard, Son: Mark (Linda) Rossignol, Daughters: Kim (Joseph) Lemmons, and Karen Rossignol; Granddaughters: Jalyn Zweerink, and Nicole Rossignol, Grandson: Christopher (Mckayla) Rossignol; Great-Grandsons: Clyde Zweerink, Orion Rossignol, Great-Granddaughter: Oriana Lafrance; Nephews: Richard (Tedra), son Christopher Conard, Randal (Sylvia), son Audie, daughter Maryla Conard, Ronald Conard and Fiancée Fon
She is preceded in death by her husband: Claude L Rossignol (2018), and her parents, Elvern and Esther (Curtis) Conard.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. John’s Catholic Church, 7601 Vine St, Lincoln, NE at 10:30 am with luncheon to follow.
Burial will be at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home & Cemetery, 6800 S 14th St, Lincoln, NE, following the service and luncheon.
