Pat VanBuskirk passed away on Sunday evening April 28, 2024, after years of fighting numerous health issues. She was 79 years old. Pat was born in Biloxi, Mississippi on March 7, 1945 to Dick and Billie Lawrence. She grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. She attended Rancho High School. She married Red VanBuskirk at the tender age of 16! Red and Pat had Michael, their son who sadly passed away of Leukemia at 12 years of age. Pat worked many, many years at Western Cab Company. Pat and Red adopted David and Jenny within days of their birth. There could not have been a more loving family. David died at the age of 36 during a Metro helicopter rescue on Mt. Charleston on July 22, 2013.
Pat loved, loved spending time in her home, specifically 'her bedroom'. She loved reading all the daily news event on her iPad, and watching movies, and odd documentaries (people who traveled in vans, VIPs who are buried in Hollywood Hills, Andrew Carnegie documentary, etc.) She had everything, everything she could possibly need within an arm's length.
She had a wicked sense of humor - that is what most of us will miss about her. She had a 'one on one' relationship with Amazon. You know those people that have a 'Delivery Every Day" - that was Pat.
She was a very generous - very generous and giving person.
Pat was the "Family Matriarch" - all our family members depended on her wisdom and knowledge. She leaves behind her daughter, Jenny VanBuskirk, and two grandsons, Reid and Griffin. She leaves behind her sister, the 'remaining' Lawrence girl, Peggy Lawrence Samuels. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, brother Ricky, sister Linda, and her husband Red VanBuskirk. She is survived by many family members - The Dani Nichols Family, The Billy Samuels Family, Daughter-in-law Adriana VanBuskirk, and many VanBuskirk relatives.
Pat will be buried at Palm Mortuary. Per her request, there will be no services. And, if ya know Pat - she doesn't want any flowers or cards.
"I had a great life!"
