Elaine was born on December 30, 1928, in Baltimore, MD. Elaine received her PhD from Southern Illinois University in 1983. She moved to Evansville, IN, to work for the University of Evansville as Assistant Director of Continuing Education and Director of the Woman's Program. Elaine was the proud mother of 5 children, Barbara Holland, Susan Weiman, David Weiman (Matti Zelin), Stephen Weiman (Elaine Gordon Weiman), Cheryl Brice (Larry Brice); 6 grandchildren, Danielle Holland, Michelle Holland, Joseph Weiman, Jacob Weiman, Aaron Weiman, Katherine Brice; and 5 great-grandchildren, Nathan D'Amico, Samantha Holland, Wyndon Brian Osborne-Hankey, Nechama Weiman and Leah Weiman. She was survived by her brother Larry Kamanitz and her sister Barbara Holland. Elaine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Samuel Weiman and her parents Shirley and Samuel Kamanitz. Elaine was an avid reader who loved lifelong learning and was always willing to engage in political discussions. Her hobbies included reading, politics, health and physical fitness, and knitting. Elaine was a long time member of Temple Adath B'Nai Israel, Evansville, Indiana. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Palm Eastern Cemetery, 7600 S. Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV. King David Chapel of Las Vegas, NV handled all the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Elaine will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
