Obituary of Ronnie Lee Roach
Ronnie Lee Roach, age 79, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at his residence. He was born in Kokomo to the late Carl and Georgia (Graham) Roach on April 8, 1945. Ronnie married Paulette (Jones) on September 10, 1966, and she survives. Ronnie graduated from Kokomo High School and went on to enlist in the United States Navy in 1963. He served two tours during the Vietnam War, where he earned a National Defense Service Medal and a Vietnam Service Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1967. Ronnie was a member of the VFW Post #1152. After serving his country, he started working at Chrysler and retired after 32 years of employment. He was also a member of UAW #685. Ronnie had a passion for sports. He was a high school basketball referee for 6 years and he organized the Saturday Kokomo Church League Softball. He was involved in the Tipton American Legion Baseball Program. Ronnie was also very active in Tri-Central High School and Youth Sports. Ronnie was proud of his 57 years of marriage to Paulette, his three sons, and nine grandchildren. Ronnie is survived by his loving wife, Paulette; three sons, Michael Roach, Greg (Heather) Roach, and Eddie (Pam) Roach; and nine grandchildren, Gabe, Conor, Sarah, Zach, Ellie, Bry, Addy, Emily, and Kyla. Preceded in death are his parents; brothers, George and Dick; sister, Leland; and several nieces and nephews. There will be a time of visitation on Monday, May 13, 2024 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM, at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 West Alto Road, Kokomo, In. Pastor Dave Osborne will be officiating. Entombment will follow to Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery with full military rites performed by the VFW Post #1152 Military Rites Team and the United States Navy. Memorial contributions may be made in Ronnie's memory to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
