It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Nancy Lee Hutchinson on Sunday, April 28, 2024. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and while she will be missed, we rejoice in knowing that she is at peace with her Lord and savior in Heaven.
Nancy was born on May 28, 1957 to Maxine and Lyle Freeze and grew up in Pittsfield, MA. She had many friends and hobbies; her favorite being horseback riding and barrel racing with her three horses. In high school she met Gary S Hutchinson, who became her high school sweetheart, then ultimately her husband, of 49 years.
After getting married a month out of high school, Nancy and Gary enjoyed their married life for several years. They moved around the country, traveled cross country on Gary’s motorcycle and made lifelong friends wherever they went. Along the way, Nancy became a beautician, a career she enjoyed for 20+ years. Afterward, she transitioned to become a librarian assistant. Both careers brought her new friendships and much happiness.
Once Gary & Nancy moved to Atascocita, Texas, they were blessed with their dream of being parents, welcoming into their lives their beloved Jade. They settled into their permanent life here in Texas, where Nancy would spend the remainder of her life (nice and warm, just how she liked it). Again, they made many wonderful friends. Nancy was active in her church, they continued to travel, while always staying devoted to Nancy’s parents and Gary’s mother until each of them passed. Nancy loved to read, relax in her pool, watch movies and spend time with her church family (especially the weekly visits to their favorite Tex-Mex restaurant, including LOTS of ice cream). She always looked for any opportunity to gather and host friends.
When Nancy and Gary became empty nesters, she was able to travel with Gary on many of his business trips to Europe. Nancy also continued to be a devoted mother, making many trips to SFA University in Nacogdoches and then to Connecticut, where Jade completed her undergraduate degree followed by her masters. Eventually, Gary retired. They took dream trips across North America; including Alaska and The Panama Canal. These trips and memories will always remain and be treasured in the hearts of Gary and Jade, both.
Most recently, Nancy was afforded the joy of seeing her only daughter be married. Gary and Nancy welcomed Thomas Emmite, Jr. into their family with open arms. Nancy loved Tom dearly. Nancy was also blessed with her dream of a “country home” to enjoy & relax in. Along with all of this, in 2022 Nancy earned the title of “Nana”. She was able to be here for the birth of her beloved Evalynn. She treasured and enjoyed every minute of her dear Evalynn's first 2 years of life.
Nancy is survived by her husband-Gary Hutchinson, daughter-Jade Hutchinson-Emmite, son-in-law- Tom Emmite Jr., granddaughter-Evalynn Emmite, and her brother- Mark Freeze.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Maxine Freeze and her father, Lyle Freeze.
