Daughter of Jack Isadore and Sophie (Schneider) Fein. Lina (pronounced LY-nuh) passed away on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024 at home in Kansas City, Missouri.
Lina spent her first nine years living in Hartford during the Great Depression. Her family lived well, unlike many others at that time, and her dad always had steady employment. She moved to the Bronx, Los Angeles, Kansas City, St. Louis, then back to Kansas City where she graduated Southwest High School in 1946. Lina attended Kansas City Junior College and then the University of Missouri, graduating in 1950 with a BA in Political Science.
Lina found a job in Chicago involving statistics, living with a former college roommate in Cicero. That is where she met her future husband Richard Conway on the tennis court. The two eloped on 23 November 1952 in Olathe, KS while Richard was on break from boot camp in Norman, OK. They settled in Kansas City in 1956 to help Lina’s father who had suffered a serious illness.
Lina enjoyed shopping, investing, and playing card games. She was highly competitive, always looking for the best deal or best return on investment. She spent much of her time taking care of her three children, driving them to music lessons and school events and attending school performances that her children were in.
Predeceased by her husband Richard Conway on 1 May 2023 and her brother-in-law Steve Conway. Survived by daughters Cynthia Ann (Dan) Rinne and Julie Ann Shaffer, son David Bryan (Kathryn Willard) Conway, grandchildren Heather, Evan, Donna, Linda, Richard, and Alexis, and brother Steven Fein.
