Roxy is survived by her son Leslie (Linda) Johnston; daughter Marla (Kevin) Grad; granddaughter Charmaine Grad; her sister Rena Nixon and numerous nieces and nephews.
Roxy was predeceased by parents Arthur and Etta Nixon; husband Earl Johnston; brother Chester Nixon; sisters Ruth Nixon and Rilla Bowen and parents-in-law Salem and Elsie Johnston.
Roxy was best known for her love of family, friends and animals. Roxy grew up on her family farm in Fillmore, SK. When she wasn’t helping out on the farm, she was busy sewing, gardening and even a little bit of painting. She was a great cook and her pies were the envy of many. In the winter she liked to cross country ski and play hockey on the local women’s team. She was very involved with 4-H as a leader and a judge. She was an active member of the United Church, a member of the choir and taught crafts at Camp Wabimasquah. Roxy also volunteered in many community events.
A celebration of life for Roxy was held in the Fillmore Memorial Hall, Fillmore, Saskatchewan on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. with Monica Dayman officiating. Interment will be held at a later date.
