Sandra Sue Gonzalez, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to countless others passed away unexpectedly on April 29th, 2024 in Houston, Texas. She was born on July 25th, 1945 in Elkhart, Texas to Louis H. and Jean E. Luce.
Taught by her mother and grandmother, from the early age of nine years old she knew she wanted to serve the true God, Jehovah, so she dedicated herself and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, April 10, 1955. She spent the rest of her life sharing the wonderful hope found within the pages of the Bible with others. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life and she loved teaching people about it. One such hope was that found in Revelation 21:3,4, “With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: ‘Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.’”
Sandra's love for her family knew no bounds. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Francisco Gonzalez; son Frank Gonzalez and his wife Jennifer; daughter Sara Quezada and her husband David; son Chris Ramirez; grandchildren David Quezada, Autumn Mastin, Carlie Rutledge; brother Tommy Luce and his wife Raquel. Her pride and joy was undoubtedly her grandson, David, whom she cherished deeply and spent every minute she could with him watching movies and eating Cheetos, ice cream and Twizzlers.
She had a passion for cooking that brought joy to all who tasted her dishes – never letting anyone leave hungry or unsatisfied. Sandra recently hosted a tea party at her home for some of her closest friends where they enjoyed not only delicious food but also each other’s company.
Words cannot even begin to express the void that will be felt in the lives of many because of her passing, but we all know that she is now in Jehovah’s book of remembrance (Malachi 3:16) and one day soon, the words of John 5:28, 29 (“…for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life…”) will come true and she will live again!
A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located at 2029 Harold St, Houston TX 77098 at 3 pm on Saturday May 4, 2024. In lieu of flowers or gifts please consider donating to what Sandra loved most - the worldwide Bible teaching campaign of Jehovah's Witnesses at www.donate.jw.org
Sandra will be remembered as a loving woman whose kindness touched many lives throughout hers.
