Philip Richard Vaello (Phil), age 71, passed away on April 27, 2024, after a 5 year battle with neuroendocrine cancer. A memorial service for Phil will be held on Saturday May 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Brookside Funeral Home, 9149 Highway 6 North, Houston, TX 77095. A reception will follow the service.
Phil was born in Alice, Texas to Rosemary and William F. Vaello. He grew up in Benavides, Texas. Phil began his career in safety at Mobile Industrial Safety Supplies in Houston in 1976 as a salesman and became an officer of the company (vice-president) in 1981. He continued his career in sales as a regional manager at North Hand Protection, EAR Viscolas, and Willis Medical from 1985-1993. In 1993 Phil started his own business, PRV Supply, which he continued to operate while he worked as Safety Manager at Houston Distributing Company from 2003-2020.
Phil is survived by his wife of almost 48 years, Debra (Debbie) and his children, Kristen (Maly Shmad) Vaello, Audra(Pepper) Graves and husband, Patrick Graves, and Tracy Case and husband, Chris Case. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Skylar (Sky), Ayden (Buddy), Cooper (Coopy Rose), and Lauren. Survivors also include his siblings, Sidney Vaello, Rosemary Rice and husband Guy Ishimoto, Bill Vaello, and David Vaello. Phil was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Lynnette Vaello.
Phil loved spending time with family and friends. He loved hunting, spending time outdoors, and traveling. We enjoyed many memorable family vacations. He also loved to help others and made friends easily. As the saying goes, he never met a stranger, only a friend he hadn’t met before. He was known by some as “Fix-It Phil” because he was so ingenuitive and creative, he could fix almost anything. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
