Nosrat was born on March 27, 1952 in Abadan, Iran, as the second oldest of 8 children. After completing high school, she worked for the National Iranian Oil Company for 15 years, where she met her husband, Reza. They married on December 2, 1976, and they had 3 beautiful children— Roozbeh, Mehrzad, and Nazaneen. In 1987, their family sold everything and immigrated to the U.S., leaving the only home they had ever known in pursuit of a better life with more opportunities. Nosrat and Reza worked very hard, and eventually, they became business owners. Nosrat poured so much of herself into the business while gracefully maintaining profound devotion to her children and family. Her love-infused, home-cooked meals – night after night and year after year – were one of the many ways in which she showed her affection. She was the kind of mother who supported her children's dreams and made sure they had experiences that she wasn't able to have. She was always there to offer a listening ear or advice and was ready to give the best hugs and kisses around.
Nosrat was steadfast in her Sufi faith, having no doubts in her Creator and the Beloved. She attended weekly services, and she always helped where needed. She was known for her humor, compassion, empathy, and selflessness. She was an expert in cultivating long-lasting friendships. She served as a pillar of strength and a shoulder to lean on for everyone who knew her. Resilient and spirited, she was always there for others, often with little regard for herself. Nosrat was truly a warrior, both in her heart and mind, having overcome so much adversity. We will miss her beautiful voice, kind heart, generosity, and love, but we know that she will be even closer to us than ever before, as we carry her enduring legacy of kindness and love in our hearts.
Nosrat is preceded in death by her father, Abdolkarim Bahmani, and brothers, Mohammad Reza and Ibrahim. She leaves behind her loving husband of 48 years, Reza; her son, Roozbeh, and his wife, Blaire, with her grandchildren, Farrah, Roya, and Kiyan; her son, Mehrzad, and his wife, Kaitlin, with her grandchildren, Peyton and Logan; her beautiful daughter, Nazaneen; her mother, Khairi Golestanroo; her siblings, Essi, Behnam, Nasrin, Mehran, and Nastaran, together with their families; and a host of more cousins, family and friends across the U.S. and abroad.
A visitation for Nosrat will be held Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079. A funeral and committal service will follow Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079.
