Roger Lee Evans went to be with the Lord on April 29, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents Maurice and Lucille Evans and sister Janet Evans. He is survived by his wife Judy Evans, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Robert and Ginny Wiechering, children, Teresa and Matt Daniels, Dan and Joni Evans, Christy and Roy Robertson, Lisa and Stephen Pool and Joel Trenschel. And many grandchildren. Roger was born in Columbus, Ohio on August 10, 1936, to Maurice and Lucille Evans. Roger was a pioneer in the computer field as he assigned and created some of the first domain names for the internet. In his career he worked as the CFO of Network Solutions in Vienna, VA. Humbly, he would say that he was” just an accountant.” While growing up Roger worked a paper route to help his mom, Lucille, make ends meet while his dad, Maurice, was serving in WW2. Throughout his life, he always made sure that no one ever went without a meal. In his youth, he spent many nights going to bed hungry. Grocery shopping on the weekends was the highlight for Roger’s kids growing up. Since there were 4 of them, they would alternate weekends. Judy was the love of his life, and they were married for 44 wonderful years. He was a very loving man. He loved God, Judy and his family with all his heart. He never missed an opportunity to share the “good new of Jesus Christ.” He was the role model that his kids would look up to. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan and seldom missed watching them play on TV. While living in Ohio, Roger would attend the Clippers Baseball games. Roger’s parents had season tickets. He loved spending time with his family, especially at these games. Ten cent hot dog night was their favorite. Watch out when playing cards with Roger. He was good. He enjoyed winning and humbly lost. Judy and Roger would play cards together almost every day. Roger was always up for a game of cards. Roger had a heart for the Lord. We can rest assured that he is singing and praising in heaven. He went to sleep in this life and woke up in the presences of God.
