Peggy Sue Tenney, age 92, of Homosassa, Florida passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.
Peggy was born February 1, 1932 to Bayard G. Davis and Estella Hornsby Davis in Battle Creek, Michigan. After graduating from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1949, she went on to earn a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education at Western Michigan University.
Peggy taught elementary level and then special education for many years, primarily in Holland, Michigan. She also taught for a short while at Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids. Peggy’s dedication for teaching and education led her ultimately to becoming a school administrator at the Muskegon Public Schools Administration. She retired after a 27-year career in education.
In 1957, Peggy met John Tenney and they fell in love and were happily married for 45 years.
In her retirement, she moved to Florida and devoted her time to her passion for the performing arts, volunteer work, and cheering on her favorite team the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Peggy is predeceased by her parents; brother John (Jack) Davis; sister, Lillian Maxwell; and husband, John Tenney. She is survived by her beloved twin sister, Patsy Roth; children, Lynda Richardson and Jim Tenney; four grandchildren, Patience Tenney, Christina Ehrlichman, Seth Richardson, Garrett Richardson and six great grandchildren; nieces and nephews Kathy Harris and Michael Maxwell; Kathy Davis, Jannine Kennedy, John Davis, and Jeff Davis;
