Billie Fikes Davis, age 92, of Trussville, AL passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2019. Visitation will be Saturday, July 13 at 10:00am with service following at 11:00am at Ridout’s Valley Chapel, Homewood, AL. Dr. Steven Strange will be officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
Billie graduated from Cordova High School in 1945 and attended Howard College, which is now Samford University. She was a member of Jonesboro Methodist in Bessemer for over 36 years and later became a member of First Methodist Church of Trussville. Billie retired from Bessemer City Parks & Recreation after many years of service. She was a talented seamstress and had a love for gardening. She was a member of the East End Council Garden Club and won many 1st place ribbons for Best in Show.
Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Davis; brothers, Charles W. Fikes and Bobby Fikes; and son-in-law Jackie Powell.
She is survived by her children, Larry Davis (Jackie), Nancy Powell and Carol Cameron Alfano (Rick); sisters, Barbara White and Peggy Rideout; grandchildren Peter and Bradley Davis, Whitney (Powell) Brink and Lindsay (Powell) Bright, Barrett and Brent Cameron and 9 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Larry Davis, Barrett Cameron, Brent Cameron, Jamie Brink and Derrick Bright.
