Gilbert Harry Hogan died peacefully at his home in Hemet, surrounded by his loving family on April 27, 2024. Gilbert was 87 years young. He was born September 28, 1936 in Huntington Park, California. Curious about the world at large at a very young age, Gilbert developed a passion for bringing his minds inventions to life.
Gilbert joined the California Army National Guard after high school, where he served in for 6 years. He was employed as a Shop Lead Fabrication Specialist for 30 years by Eastern Municipal Water District. Gilbert was a avid ham radio operator with R.A.C.E.S and developed many acquaintances worldwide with this same passion. Among his many interests were shooting, fishing, traveling and he was a Master Mason. Gilbert additionally served as a volunteer fire chief for CDF, Station 26 for 3 years.
Gilbert had the sharpest wit, incredible vocabulary and intellect. He always had an engaging story and many fond recollections of the world through his eyes.
He was pre-deceased by his wife of 37 years, Louise M. Hogan.
Gilbert is survived by his daughter, Teresa Hogan, son, Alan Hogan, daughter, Jerilee Campman, as well as numerous grand, great and great great grandchildren. He is also survived by step children Dee Bower and Ted Inman, as well as sisters MaryLee Hellam, Pat Eichenhofer and Martha Sue Herkelrath.

A celebration of his life will be held at Miller Jones Mortuary on June 6, 2024 at 10 AM.
