Betty L. Seese, 97, of Grove City. Born in her grandparent’s farmhouse on Grove City Rd (“Dutch Pike”) in 1927 where she lived until graduating from Jackson Township-Grove City High School in 1945. Betty was an accomplished amateur dancer, painter, gardener (orchids), and seamstress. She loved to play golf and once shot a hole-in-one. Her career included office manager for the Robert H. Johns Co. and bookkeeper for Seese Electric., as well as co-ownership of the Shake Shop in Grove City. Betty was a football and basketball cheerleader in high school during the war years of 1941-45 and continued to promote her hometown throughout her life. Member of the Southwest Franklin County Historical Society, Pioneer Partner of the Telephone Pioneers of America, Elks Lodge, and Bethel Lutheran Church. Preceded in death by mother and stepfather Emma and Fremont Dunnick, husband of 69 years, Jack, and brother William Cain. Survived by daughters Janet (John L.) Shailer and Barbara Morehead, and son, Alan T. Seese – all of Grove City; grandchildren Rev. John S. (Allison) Shailer, Anna Shailer, and Katelin (Tom) Tolbert; great-grandsons Alexander, Evan, Nathan Shailer, and Talon Tolbert, niece Lori (Brad) Achille and nephew David (Tim Laurer) Cain. Also survived by brother-in-law James Kanode. Special thanks to Jessica at Bella Care Hospice and the staff of Monterey Care Center. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 4-7 pm at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY 4242 Hoover Rd. the funeral service will be held at Bethel Lutheran Church, 4501 Hoover Rd., Grove City, OH 43123 on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 10 am with Pastor Peter Ray officiating. Interment will take place at Grove City Cemetery East. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Nationwide Children’s Hospital Foundation, 700 Children’s Drive, Columbus, OH 43205 & Bethel Lutheran Church.
