After eighteen wonderful years together, Nancy’s husband, Nicholas M. Boniface, passed away on April 11, 2000. After graduating from UNC-G and taking law courses, Nancy worked in insurance, where she handled property and bond claims. She retired from the CIGNA Corp., and moved from Northern Virginia to Lexington with husband Nick in 1984. In retirement, Nancy had time to pursue her special interest in American History. She became a docent at the Stonewall Jackson House, and always enjoyed visiting historical sites. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. For three years she was DAR Chairman of Constitution week and arranged local activities to promote knowledge of the Constitution and to celebrate this great document. Also she enjoyed reading, interior decorating, gardening and politics.
The central and most important part of Nancy’s life was her Christian faith. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, where she was active in Altar Guild and Episcopal Church Women. Earlier, she had served on Altar Guild and on the Vestry at her church in Berryville, VA.
