Trudy Faye Goodpaster

Trudy Faye (Siddons) Goodpaster of Fillmore passed away on May 1, 2024, after a courageous battle of ovarian cancer. Trudy was born on Sept. 1, 1950 to Sanford and Marjorie Siddons. She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Michael Goodpaster of Fillmore, son Shea Goodpaster (Robin) of Carthage, daughter Tara Remsburg (Chad) of Greencastle, son Grant Goodpaster (Yolanda) of Fillmore and son Joshua Goodpaster (Jessica) of Greencastle; siblings Karen Beanland (Colin), Rodney Siddons (Pat), Sally Schaller (Kurt) and Perry Siddons (Bobbie); and several nieces and nephews. She was Mimi to Vanna, Spencer, Gracie, Creigh, Cada, Matthew, Griffin, Mason and Reese and Great-Mimi to Avery and Hudson. Trudy was a graduate of Fillmore High School and was employed by Dr. Hugh-Glock for 27 years. One of her greatest passions beside her family was participating in 15 Indianapolis Mini Marathons as a race walker along with many local and statewide 5K competitions. She enjoyed gardening, reading, crocheting and spending hours at her grandchildren’s sporting events. She was a 60-year member of the Fillmore Christian Church serving as worship/song leader, Sunday school teacher and church board secretary. In addition, she had served as a Putnam County CASA advocate for 11 years, receiving the Bessie Rector Award (2002) for her dedicated service and outstanding contribution to the community in the prevention of child abuse. Services will be held on Saturday, May 4 at the Fillmore Chrisitan Church with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. and service starting at 3 p.m. At a later date, burial will be at Walnut Chapel Cemetery, Belle Union.
