Helen Eudean Meyer, 91, passed away on April 28, 2024 in Fort Collins, CO. She was born December 24, 1932 at home in Cushing, NE. to Marius and Marie Pedersen Mickelsen and was the 11th of 14 children.
She was married to Raymond John Meyer on October 3, 1949. They lived at the family farm in NE where they started their family of 7 children.
After selling the family farm, they moved to Colorado. Helen wore many hats in her lifetime. Besides being a wife and mother, she helped run their family owned bowling alley which they built. She worked at Lange Ski Boot Company, Western Electric, Denver Floral Warehouse and Denver Shipping.
Together, she enjoyed many years of her retirement with Ray, snowbirding to Wellton, AZ and summers fishing and boating at Lake McConaughy, NE. Also, during her retirement years Helen took up crafting, painting, crocheting and always had a good book near at hand. Her many grandchildren and great grandchildren enjoyed her painted rocks.
Helen will always be remembered as being a soft spoken and loving woman who never spoke a mean word about anyone. She was loved by everyone. Helen was also very committed to church and had a lasting faith.
Helen is survived by her children, Diana Carlson of Ft. Collins, John (and Patty) Meyer of Broomfield, daughter-in-law Peggy Meyer of Aurora, Judy (and Jim) Lay of North Carolina, Gary (and Betty) Meyer of Northglenn, Barbara (and Larry) Rowland of Alabama and Bonita (and Pete) Vitt of Dacono, and sisters June Wadas of Johnstown, Dorothy (and Larry) Jones of Omaha, NE. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, 7 sisters, husband, son (Donald), son-in-law (Dan), 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons.
