We are sad to announce the passing of Timothy Andrew Mallett of Grand Junction, Colorado. He passed away at home on April 28, 2024 from health complications. His departure comes as a great shock and deep wound to his family and friends. Upon his departure when he took his last breath on earth the clouds opened up that afternoon and he was ushered into heaven into the presence of his Savior.
Timothy was born on November 26, 1966 to Larry and Ella Mae Mallett, he grew up in a loving home in Delta, Colorado. He attended Delta Schools where he excelled in wrestling (AKA Tiger Tim) and shop. Shop was his favorite subject in school because there his mind and hands could be creative. While finishing up high school he also attended Delta Technical College where he received his certificate in Welding. After Timmy graduated from Delta High School he moved to Grand Junction and worked as a Youth Minister at Trinity Baptist Church. He married his former wife Pam Pittman and together they moved to North Carolina for him to attend Seminary at Fruitland Bible College. While attending Bible College he also a youth minister at a church. He graduated with a BA. During this time, his son, Tommy Mallett was born in 1994. Timothy thought the world of Tommy, he was so proud of him and he was the joy of his life. They returned to Grand Junction where he was a part owner of Mor Storage Sales. Tim then became ill with Grand Mal Seizures which challenged his future and he was unable to work. Tim was a friendly, kind of guy who never met a stranger and everyone loved him. He helped those who were less fortunate than him and would always lend a hand to anyone in need. He was a happy person with a strong spirit, he always had a big smile and a great laugh. He loved people and his family. He liked collecting all sorts of trinkets, inventing new things as well as fixing broken treasures. In his younger years he enjoyed working on vehicles, rebuilding engines and restoring cars. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, who loved being outdoors and had a great love for life and his family. In his later years, he spent time in his garden and loved making his yard look beautiful. Timmy had a dog named Bobby that he loved and was his constant companion. His girlfriend, Bonnie Carl, was the sunshine of his life and meant everything to him.
Tim is survived by his parents Larry & Ella Mae Mallett, sisters Cheryl Brown (Tim), April Schneiter (Chad). Son Tommy Mallett and former wives, Pam Jackson and Dora Salazar.
His 5 Nephews Tim, Isaac, Caleb, Joel, Blake and his favorite Niece Sierra.
Along with Aunts and Uncles, Cousins and close friends.
Tim was preceded in death by his younger sister Melynda Mae Mallett,
Grandparents Andy & Fern Mallett and Marvin & LueElla Phillips,
Uncles Vince Mallett, Charlie and Ron Phillips, Mike and Sharon (Aunt) Bridgewater.
He will be missed as we will always remember his gentle and strong spirit and his unforgettable laugh and smile and his big brown eyes. We will see you soon Tiger Tim.
A visitation will take place from 5:00-7:00 pm on Monday May 6, 2024 at Martin Mortuary 550 North Avenue Grand Junction, CO 81501.
There will be a celebration of his life at 11:00 am at Victory Life Church Tuesday May 7, 2024 2066 US-50, Fruita, CO 81521, following the service Interment will take place at Delta Cemetery, 1055 E. 3rd Street Delta, CO 81416.
