Susie was born August 12, 1939, in Tempe, Arizona. She married the love of her life, Antonio H. Torres, in 1961. She was raised in downtown Phoenix, and spent her life devoted to her family as a homemaker. She was known for her delicious food, especially her refried beans and flour tortillas. Susie was strong and tender-hearted, she loved her family and always made sure they were all taken care of. She often mentioned that she prayed every day to Jesus for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and siblings. She never hesitated to pray for someone when asked. She will be incredibly missed by all of her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Antonio H. Torres; her daughter Diane Cordova Gentile; her parents Manuel Pacheco Cordova and Concepcion Martinez Cordova; her sister Connie Cordova Zamora; and her brothers Manuel Cordova and Robert Munoz.
Susie was survived by her children, David Cordova and daughter-in-law Patricia; Joe Torres and daughter-in-law Mary; Frank Torres and daughter-in-law Rachel; Johnny Torres and daughter-in-law Stella; Teresa Torres; Tony Torres; Ruben Torres and daughter-in-law Brachel; Rosie Wyatt and son-in-law Charlie; 37 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; and six sisters, Teresa, Carmen, Frances, Mary, Margaret, and Dolores.
A visitation for Susie will be held Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 North 59th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301. A funeral service will occur Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A graveside service will occur Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery and Funeral Home, 9925 W Thomas Rd, Avondale, AZ 85392.
Although her journey here has ended, know that her eternal life with her heavenly Father is just beginning. We can all rejoice in that.
