Larry was born on August 19th, 1961, in Nelsonville, Ohio, and grew up surrounded by loving parents, two feisty younger siblings and countless family members and friends. Growing up as a “military brat,” Larry was able to experience different cultures and see different parts of the world. Once 18, Larry decided to leave the family’s current residence in Michigan and move to Florida. While living in Florida in 1981, he met the love of his life, Melonie Frazier, and her daughter, Shen. After ten years in Florida, Larry decided to move back to Ohio where his family had decided to take up roots. It was then on September 27th, 1991, in Columbus, Ohio, that Larry and Mel officially became Mr. and Mrs. Coffey.
During his full life, Larry’s favorite pastimes included fishing, riding motorcycles and spending time at the beach as much as possible. But his favorite was spending time with his family and friends.
Larry is going to be greatly missed by his wife and daughter, grand and great grandchildren, mom, dad, sister and all his extended family and friends. He was a very caring and loving man and had a welcoming smile for all those he loved. Larry never told us how to live; he believed in “live and let live”. His family and friends will cherish the fact that we were able to watch him do just that until the very end.
Larry leaves in mourning, his wife Melonie, daughter Shen (Larry); parents Larry and Paticia; sister Dawn (George); grandchildren Skyler, Kapri, Faith, Emily, Larry, Courtney and Richard, great grandchild, PJ, and also his two nephews, George and Brandon. Larry was predeceased in death by his brother, Chris.
Larry, we are sad that we cannot keep you here with us. Know that we take comfort that the angels have welcomed you in Heaven and that you are watching over us. The world lost a wonderful, witty, amazing man. You will be forever missed, but never forgotten. Our love for you will live on in our memories forever.
Larry will be laid to rest in Oak Grove Cemetery in Zaleski, Ohio.
