She was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Violet Stofreggen, her loving husband Allan Whaling, sister Sarah Bridge, daughter Holly Craft and sons David Whaling and Alex Whaling.
She is survived by her sister Shirley Leahy, best friend Carolyn Beard, granddaughters Mandy Whaling-Osborne, Jennifer Marks, grandson John (Samantha) Craft, great-grandchildren Megan (Derek), Kyle, Brianna, Chaylena, Ashley, Daisy, John, Christian, Jason, Josiah, Kenneth, Charlotte, Rueul, Baileigh, Logan, Joel, three great-great-grandchildren, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Carol was born on July 28, 1929, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a graduate of Hughes High School class of 1947. She then worked in retail and office work writing in shorthand while attending the University of Cincinnati where she met the love of her life, Allan. They married in 1951 and raised three children together in a home Allan built in Cincinnati. They then moved to Dublin, Ohio, in 1978.
Carol lead a very interesting life. She had many hobbies including golfing, tennis, cooking, baking gardening, reading sewing, traveling, playing guitar and piano, and she was a lover of art. She love to volunteer and proudly sewed her children’s clothing in their youth. She was absolutely fascinated by people and life. She wanted to learn and experience as much as possible. She love to entertain. She hosted many parties throughout the years and even opened her home to pro-golfers to stay during the Memorial Tournament.
Carol was youthful, strong, intelligent, passionate, kind, loving and hilarious beyond compare. Her gorgeous smile, laughter and radiant energy filled any room she was in. She is loved and will be missed beyond measure.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a service immediately following at 1:00 p.m. at Schoedinger Dublin, 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin, Ohio 43017. Interment to follow at Dublin Cemetery, 83 W. Bridge Road, Dublin, Ohio 43017.
