Franco was born April 15, 1931 in Modena, Italy to Nazzareno and Maria Cremonini. He grew up on a farm where his love for gardening began. In 1971, he and his family immigrated to America where they settled down on Long Island. During that time, Franco started a landscaping business, which he worked closely with his son Massimo and his wife, Bernadette.
In 1992, he moved to New Fairfield. Everyone in the neighborhood knew Franco. He never shied away from giving a tour of his bountiful garden or sharing his abundance of knowledge when it came to gardening. He was always willing to give away any extra vegetables to the neighbors so they too could enjoy home-grown vegetables.
Franco is survived by his son, Massimo (Rosann) Cremonini; his son-in law, Mark Tsiames; his five grandchildren: Melissa, Michelle, Michael, Frankie, and Liliana; and great-granddaughter, Harper.
He is predeceased by his wife, Bernardetta (Balboni) Cremonini and his daughter, Daria Tsiames.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Monday, May 13, 2024 at St. Edward the Confessor Church, Brush Hill Rd., New Fairfield, CT with the Rev. Timothy Iannacone, officiating.
