Mike was born in Loraine, Texas, on July 19, 1950, to Leon Prescott and Frances Prescott, and grew up in the small town of Colorado City, Texas. He attended Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas, from 1969-1970, and then attended United Electronics Institute in Dallas, Texas, from 1970 – 1972, where he earned his degree in Electrical Engineering.
Mike was married to Cheryl L. Prescott, his wife of 27 years, from September 19, 1970, until her death on June 20, 1998. Prior to retirement, he worked hard to provide for his family, often taking on a second job. Mike had a career in electrical engineering and later on in telecommunications engineering and network architecture. Companies he worked for include Sun Oil Company, Fluor Daniel, TXU, and Alcatel-Lucent.
He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Michelle Moore (husband Jamie) and Amy Nicole Crocker (husband Russ); his beloved grandchildren, Blake A. Moore, Anthony M. Wagner, Dillon L. Crocker and Danielle H. Crocker; and his brother, Charles Lynn Prescott (wife June).
A graveside service to honor his life will be held on Monday, May 6, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the Abbey Estates at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas.
