Wanda Wenger Minnich

Wanda Wenger Minnich, 81, of Culpeper passed away on April 27, 2024 after battling dementia and breast cancer. Born in Harrisonburg, VA, Wanda graduated from Harrisonburg High School. She moved to Culpeper in 1962 when she and Claude married and raised two daughters. She was an Instructional Assistant for 32 years at Pearl Sample Elementary School and enjoyed teaching reading to children k-3rd grades. Wanda was also the Secretary and Treasurer of Clarke Hardware in downtown Culpeper. She loved plants, spending time in her yard and her cat, Suzie! We want to thank the staff at English Meadows-Lavender Hills Orange Campus for their excellent care and kindness to her and our family. We also appreciate the exceptional care given to her by the nurses from Hospice of the Piedmont. Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, Claude H. Minnich II; her daughters Teresa M. Broyles (Greg) of Roanoke, VA and Robin L. Snead (Dan) of White Plains, MD; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; her sister, Nancy Saylor of Broadway, VA; Sisters-in-Law Anna Lee Newman (Larry) of Dayton VA, Dorice Jean Graham (Henry) of Bridgewater, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Bertha Wenger, brothers Howard Wenger and wife Caroline; John Wenger and wife Josephine. Art Fellows, former Pastor, and Hosub Sung, current Pastor of Woodland United Methodist Church, will officiate Wanda’s funeral service on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 11:00, to be held in the chapel of Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Highway, Culpeper, VA, with visitation one hour before. Interment will follow at St. Jacobs Spaders Cemetery at 1:30, 3555 Spaders Church Road, Mount Crawford, VA with Pastor Greg Broyles officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Piedmont (1200 Sunset Ln #2320, Culpeper, VA 22701) or the Alzheimer’s Association.
