George was born Sept 5, 1941 in Camrose Alberta and spent most of his child life in the Westerose area Alberta. He started his work career early in Alder flats followed by a short term in the Army. He met our mother Diane around 1961 and was married in 1962. Bill and Tim were born shortly after. George went to school to become an auto mechanic and started his career operating a garage in Battle lake Alberta. George decided to move our family to Vancouver where Darcy was born and continued with his
automotive career. This led George to Squamish B.C. to own and operate a gulf service station and mom eventually ran our scuba shop. This is where Shauna was born. In 1977 George had an opportunity to own a Snap-On-Tool run on Vancouver Island which brought his family to Black Creek. After two years of the tool business, George started a mobile auto parts business servicing most repair shops from Nanaimo to Port Hardy and got to know many wonderful people. George semi retired for a spell and then decided to go back to his childhood property and do what he always wanted to do and raise beef cattle. Through life circumstances George started dating his long time friend Joan and they were married July 29, 2010. After a short time at their farm, George and Joan decided to move back to Black Creek and settled on a half acre home. Though George may no longer be with us in body, his spirit will live on through the love, memories, friends and family he cherished. May he rest in peace, knowing that he touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.
