Sara Ann Schaub

Sara Ann Schaub, 80, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Columbus Regional Hospital. Sara was born May 3, 1943 in Columbus, Indiana. She was the daughter of Duncan Alexander and Florence Billings McLean.
She graduated from Columbus High School in 1961. Sara married Ronald F. Schaub in 1981 and he survives.
She worked at Cummins for 30 years before retiring in 2000. She attended St. Bartholomew Catholic Church and was a member of the Elks Club and Knights of Columbus.
Sara was a dedicated fan of famed musician, Prince. She loved cats, watching the Young and Restless, Roseanne, Fox News, and eating at Shorty’s Lunch.
She had a compassionate heart and was always willing to help anyone in need. She was a devoted wife, a loyal friend, and a good-natured person.
Sara is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Ronald F. Schaub; and her two best friends, Roberta DeSantis and Marsha Starks.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Michael Allen McLean; her aunt-in-law, Kathleen Wyatt; and her cousin-in-law, Wanda Dunn.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Sara will be held Thursday, May 2 at 11 am at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church with Father Clem Davis as celebrant. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery. Friends may gather for visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial donations in Sara’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, Columbus Animal Care Services (C.A.R.E), or the Bartholomew County Humane Society.
