David Wesley Mahon passed away on May 11th, 2024, in Clayton NC at the age of 83. He was born to Chester Mahon Sr. and Frances Galloway in Chaumont New York on August 15th, 1940, and lived in Calcium, New York for many years. He attended Sackets Harbor and Watertown High School, where he played basketball.
David Mahon worked for Marzano’s Paving for Ralph Marzano in Watertown New York for over 40 years. He attended Free Methodist Church on Arsenal Street in Watertown where he interacted with the community and became an usher. He loved to watch Nascar, and The New York Yankees. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather with a personality that would light up any room, you always knew he was there. He married Sandra Richards, of Adam Center, in 1976, they went on to have a beautiful Marriage of 47 years.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm, just prior to the service.
David was one of ten siblings, he is survived by two brothers, Chester Mahon Jr, and Richard Mahon, and one sister, Valerie DePaulo all from Florida.
In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his son, Jeffery, five sisters, Betty Scee, Grace Babcock, Kay Cowles, Jessie Pitcher, and Edna Elmore and one Brother Mike Mahon.
He went on to have five children, Jimmy and Spouse Jeanett, Joe, and Spouse Juilia, Julie and Spouse Jack Brown, and Crystal Spouse Robert Ayers. He also had 6 grandchildren, Jason, Natalie, Spouse Joe Yott, David, Alexis, Abigail, and Alyssa, 10 great grandchildren, Jennifer, Michelle, Katlyn, Randi Lynn, Jason, Landen, Emma, Noah, Lucus, Abel, and Colton, and 4 great great grandchildren, Landon, Colton, Wesley, and Avery.
