He decided to close the station in 1989 and went back to Schindler Elevators until his retirement in 2000.
Nemire was a gentle giant that loved a good debate about anything and with anyone. He was known to challenge people by asking questions to strike up conversations that would leave some agitated and others perplexed. His quick wit and sarcasm kept many on their toes or in stitches with laughter.
Nemire had three children however became god-father to quite a few because of the heart posture of his wife Mary. She opened their home to many, and he just ‘went with the flow’ as the ‘kids’ found their home to be a safe place.
