She was born in New Orleans, LA on August 23, 1926 and was a lifelong resident of Chalmette, LA. Joyce’s love for cooking was legendary, whether it was a hearty gumbo or a delicate beignet, she infused each dish with love and care. But her talents extended beyond the kitchen. She was the life of the party, her infectious laughter filling the room as she regaled friends and family with her endless repertoire of jokes and funny stories. Her quick wit and warm humor made her the center of attention wherever she went. Yet, perhaps Joyce's greatest pleasure was Mardi Gras. Every year, she eagerly anticipated the festivities, donning vibrant costumes and immersing herself in the spirit of celebration. Her zest for life, her love of cooking, and her ability to bring people together will be deeply missed.
