Phillip “PJ” Marlow Justus, II, age 50 of Castle Rock, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2024, with his family at his side. He was born on August 4, 1973, in Beckley, West Virginia, the son of Phillip M. Justus and Cynthia Atkinson Justus. PJ married Jennifer Flynn, his college sweetheart, and they celebrated nearly 30 years of marriage together before his passing.
PJ graduated from Virginia Intermont College with a degree in paralegal studies. He mastered contractual law and pursued a career owning his own software company for over 20 years. Later he joined Claimocity as the Director of Sales.
PJ was an avid sport fan, always following baseball, basketball and the Broncos. Outside of work, Coach PJ spent years coaching his children in various sports in Castle Rock from 1999-2023. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, including hiking, walking, camping and skiing. He also loved tinkering in his yard and caring for his lawn. Family was everything to PJ. He supported them with all his heart, sharing his faith, kindness, and laughter with everyone he met.
In addition to his wife, Jennifer, PJ is survived by his children Ryan Justus and wife Kristen, Abigail Justus and fiancé Justin, John Paul Justus and Lexi Justus; he was a proud “POPS” to his grandson Sean Patrick Justus; his parents Phillip and Cindy; sister Leslie Wellman husband Dave and their children Erin and Jonathan.
A celebration of PJ’s life, honoring his faith and joyful spirit, will be held on Saturday, May 18th, 2024, at 11 am at Christlife Community Church in Franktown, Colorado.
