Bobby Clifford Muggridge, 88, of Brunswick, departed this life Sunday, April 28, 2024 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at 11 am, at Edo Miller & Sons Funeral Home, with Pastor Scott Stanfill and Dave Spence officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Park Cemetery with Lance Hutcheson, Ethan Boyd, Chandler Muggridge and Eric Croft serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Billie Croft, Harry and Mary Virginia Clark, Kaki Yarborough, Don and Dot O’Quinn and the Methodist Men’s Group from College Place Methodist.
Born October 19, 1935 in Cairo, Georgia to the late Willie Harris and Mary P. Muggridge, he was a graduate of Cairo High School Class of 1954. While in high school he worked at Roddenberry Pickles as his first job. He then attended Georgia Military College where he achieved the rank of Battalion Staff Captain, and then received his Master Degree from Georgia Southern College. Mr. Muggridge was an educator with the Glynn County Board of education and taught Industrial Arts at Glynn Middle School for 37 years. He was a Member of Holy Nativity Episcopal Church for 20 years before he became a member of College Place Methodist Church. Mr. Muggridge was president of Georgia Industrial Arts Association, and was also president of Glynn County Teacher association from 1968 – 69. He was a member of BPOE 691 where he also served as chaplain for many years. Mr. Muggridge had been a resident of Glynn County for over 70 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Annette F. Muggridge.
Survivors include his son, Bobby Muggridge, Jr. and wife Amy of Brunswick, two grandchildren, Chandler Muggridge and Ansley Grace Muggridge, a sister Betty Hutcheson, a niece Myra Hutcheson, a nephew Lance Hutcheson and wife Audrey, four great nieces and nephews, and special friends Shauna Goss and Amanda Soddy.
