Janet was born in Quebec City on October 3, 1950. She was an amazing mother and best friend to her children Analee (Hesham) Baroudi, Anthony Fernandez, Alex (Kristin) Fernandez, John (Lara) Allan and Catherine Allan. They will all truly miss her. She is survived by her precious grandchildren Aleena, Xavier, Mya, Omar, Nic, Madyson, Kennedy, Ben, Connor, and Fletcher, and by her brother and sister-in-law Brian and Vina Burrows. She was predeceased by her mother Mary and her beloved grandmother Gertrude McGraw.
Janet faced many personal and health challenges in her life, never once complaining.
Janet gave the gift of love and laughter to everyone she knew. Her family and friends always knew how much she loved them. Her sometimes outrageous sense of humour made so many people happy as we all joined her in laughing.
Janet was a gifted writer and friends and family will always remember her long, original and funny poems in our birthday cards.
Janet was a brilliant woman. She was blessed with a photographic memory. She was very artistic, loving to draw pictures of cartoon characters, especially cats.
She graduated top of her class in nursing at Toronto General Hospital and then won the gold medal at McGill where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
You cannot mention Janet without mentioning her love of cats. She is survived by her six kitties, as she called them: Hobo, Ranger, Bambi, Willow, Magic, and Fluffy. No stray was ever turned away from her door. Do not be surprised if Janet is late for her own funeral!
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Janet's memory to the Brant County SPCA or to one of Janet's favourite places on Earth, Best Friends Animal Society.
