Beatrix “Bea” Edwards, 74, died suddenly at her home and Buzzards Bay, MA. She was the daughter of the late William Millenkamp , who served during WWII in Germany and Maria Millenkamp of Omaha,Nebraska, originally from Germany. Bea retired to the Cape after a long career as a flight attendant for United Airlines.
Bea was a kind and generous person. She would often bring home gifts for her friends from her many travels. As a child she spent many of her summers in East Germany with her German grandparents. She was an excellent cook and loved entertaining. She was a talented seamstress. Bea was a collector of beautiful things; she liked shopping and hunting for collectibles. But her passion was her garden. She spent much of her time there and created a beautiful place. Bea loved animals and particularly her dog, Chloe.
Bea is survived by her ex-husband, Bruce Edwards. She had a long-term relationship with the late Robert O’Connell. She will be dearly missed by her friends.
A memorial service will be held in her memory this summer.
