Helen Lee Wong, age 88, of Brookline, Massachusetts passed away Monday, April 29, 2024. Born April 12, 1936, in Guangdong, China. A beloved wife to the late Fon Ming Wong. She was the daughter of the late King C Wong. She is survived by her son Hans Wong and Alice Zhu and son Andrew Wong.
She attended high school in Hong Kong. Upon graduation she went to Canada and attended college. Helen moved to Boston in the late fifties. She worked as a seamstress. After working as seamstress, she opened and managed the Hona Island Restaurant in Foxboro from 1988-2000. She decided to retire and close the restaurant in 2000.
During her retirement, she enjoyed traveling to Asia. She visited Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Singapore. When she was not traveling, she enjoyed cooking and trying different food. While her family was important to her, she was gracious and a caring person to her friends.
Visitation Helen will be on Thursday, May 2, 2024, from 4:00pm-8:00pm at J, S. Waterman Langone Funeral Home, 580 Commercial St., Boston, MA 02109. Parking attendants will be present. A funeral service will occur on Friday, May 3, from 9:00am-11:00am at J.S Waterman Langone Chapel before leaving in procession to Newton Cemetery. Helen will lay to rest in Newton Cemetery, 791 Walnut St., Newton Centre, MA.
