Anna Jo Sipes-Lawson

On Sunday May 5th 2024, Anna Jo Lawson, formerly Anna Jo Sipes of Bedford by way of Bloomington, Indiana went home to be with her family in the presence of her creator. Born in Bloomington April 16th 1950 Anna was a highschool graduate that had careers in the healthcare industry before retiring in 2001. While she considered the work she had done important, her true life calling was being a mother. She had four children from her husband's first marriage and gave birth to two of her own. That however was only a beginning for her, as she had taken in and cared for a great number of her grandchildren, her children's school friends and anyone she found to be needing a mother's love. That is what Anna had in great abundance, the love she poured out unselfishly to the world. Anna was preceded in death by her Parents, Earl and Laverne Robertson, her first husband, Burl Sipes, her second husband, Robert Lawson, her older brother Denny Robertson, her three sons Junior Sipes, Eric Sipes and Gerald Sipes and daughter Cindy George as well as her grandson Derrick Sipes. She is survived by her daughter Juanita Chastain, her husband Tom Chastain and their children. Her daughter Amanda Maners, her husband Isaac and their children including Devon Paul Sipes whom Anna had always referred to as “her main man”. Her daughter in law Veronica Sipes, her brother, Sam Robertson of Spencer and her NUMEROUS grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Day and Deremiah Frye on Thursday May 9th from 4-8 pm and a graveside service will be held at Valhalla Memorial Gardens Friday May 10th at 2 pm.
