Jerry was in the US Air Force from 1946 to 1948 and was stationed in Japan. When he returned he went to work for Carnation Milk Company. His route included Barry’s Drive In and that is where he met the love of his life, JoAnn Dreymala. They married on June 10, 1952 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Victoria, TX. They were married for over 71 years. In 1953 they moved to Baytown, TX where they raised their three children. Jerry and his wife owned Fuller’s Tire Pro.
Jerry loved to talk and never met a stranger. He always had a smile on his face. Besides his family, he loved his ranch and cows. He was a member of the Beefmaster Breeders United. He was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and SPJST Lodge 91.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; seven sisters; a granddaughter and a grandson. He is survived by his wife JoAnn Vojacek; son Mike (Sharon) Vojacek of Beach City, TX, son Darrell (Brenda) Vojacek of Baytown, TX and daughter Pamela “Penny” (Mark) Murphy of Tuscola, IL. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 6, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 800 W. Baker Rd, Baytown, TX 77521. A rosary will follow at 11:00 AM and a mass at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow in Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Rd, Baytown, TX 77521. All arrangements are under the care of Navarre Funeral Home.
The funeral mass will be performed by Rev. Thuc Nguyen. Jerry’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family expresses gratitude to Rollingbrook Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center and its staff for their love and care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1907 Carolina Ave, Baytown, TX, 77520 for the repairs and remodeling fund.
