Elizabeth Ann Anthon passed away peacefully on April 28, 2024. She was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on May 2nd, 1974 to Wayne and Joann Anthon. She graduated from Scotlandville Magnet High School in 1992. She received her undergraduate degree from LSU and went on to earn a master’s degree from the University of Alabama. Elizabeth worked for the Louisiana Department of Child and Family Services in the field and most recently as a project director for the state office. She had a true passion for protecting children, especially those transitioning out of foster care.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her mother, Joann Anthon, grandparents, Henry Leslie and Bessie McCutcheon and William and Tier Anthon. She is survived by her father, Wayne Anthon, sisters Allison Anthon, Amanda Anthon Gremillion (Blake), nephew, Ryan Gremillion, niece, Claire Gremillion, honorary sister, Jennifer Scott. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins and beloved dog, Chester.
Elizabeth had a strong faith in God and as a longtime member of Istrouma Baptist Church she actively served in the mission field. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Capital Area Animal Welfare Society (CAAWS) or Istrouma Missions Ministry.
Visitation will be held at Istrouma Baptist Church on Thursday May 2nd, 2024 at 11 am. A funeral service will follow at 1 pm concluding with a graveside service at Greenoaks Cemetery.
