She was born to Felicula and Sofronio Macero on January 15, 1960 and is the darling younger sister to 3 brothers, Sofronio Jr, Nathaniel and Jimmy Macero. She went to Central Philippine University where she met her husband, Arthur Estaris. After graduating from nursing school, she chased her dreams of working abroad. She fulfilled her ambition as a nurse in the Middle East and continued her career in Canada. Together, they have two beautiful children: Sharine and Anissa Mae.
Sophie had a generous heart, always willing to help those around her. She loved spending time cooking and baking. She had a passion for travel and adventure and planned many impromptu road trips with family and friends. She enjoyed taking care of her garden and flowers at home and created many beautiful holiday crafts. With her remaining strength, she spent her last few weeks crocheting small blankets for her grandchildren.
Sophie is survived by her two children, two grandchildren,nieces and nephews, all of whom brought her great joy and happiness in her life.
Sophie is a beautiful soul and leaves behind a legacy of strength, courage and perseverance that will continue to inspire us all. Sophie will be dearly missed and her memory forever cherished.
A visitation for Maria Sophie will be held Sunday, May 5, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM & 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora, ON L4G 6W8. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 15347 Yonge Street, Aurora, on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 1:00 PM. Private cremation.
