Mary Louise Yates, age 86, passed away on April 26, 2024 in North Richland Hills, Texas. She was born on August 26, 1937 in Sanger, Texas to J. T. and Mary Iva Tate. Growing up Mary spent some time in Kansas City, Mo. She later back to Texas and never left again.
She raised four children in Arlington, Texas and was later married to LaRoy Yates in 1985 until his death in 2008. She owned and operated Arlington Framing Center in Town North Shopping Center where she taught art lessons and did custom picture framing for more than 25 years.
Mary loved sewing and making clothes for her children, family and friends. After retiring from picture framing, she enjoyed a second career as a self-employed seamstress making custom clothing, bridesmaid & prom dresses along with specialty alterations until she retired in 2012. After retiring for a second time, she continued her artsy lifestyle spending her spare time crocheting, watching her Texas Rangers baseball, following true crime shows and reading. Mary will be best remembered as a very devout Christian who truly loved our Lord and Savior as well as for being a spunky fireball full, with a personality that kept everyone around her laughing.
Mary was the central figure in the lives of her children, from their formidable years, through their schooling and on into their adult lives. Anyone who knows her children, knows she was a star in their eyes and that's all that ever mattered to her.
