Lee Andrew Miller (Andy) completed his time on this earth, and was welcomed into the hands of God, on May 3, 2024. A husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend, we will miss him dearly.
Visitation for Andy will be Friday May 10th, at 10:00 am, Funeral service at 11:00 am at Moore Funeral Home and the burial to follow at Moore Memorial Gardens Arlington, Texas.
Andy was born on June 12, 1951, in Millington, Tennessee, on the naval base, to Lee and Augustine Miller. He was welcomed by his 2 year old brother, Richard. Two years later sister, Janet, came aboard.
Andy spoke often and fondly of the times he spent as a child with his grandparents on their farm in Arkansas. Fishing, picking blackberries, shelling peas, playing with cousins, and sleeping on a warm feather bed were often mentioned.
In 1962, when Andy was in sixth grade, the family moved to Arlington, TX, where Andy attended CB Berry Elementary, a short walk from his home on Browning Drive. Lee Sr. worked for Braniff Airlines and mom, Augustine, worked at the highway department. Andy grew up delivering newspapers, playing baseball and basketball and attending Highland Baptist Church. Andy played clarinet in the band at Ferguson Jr High and at Sam Houston High School was Drum Major. He also worked at Arlington Memorial hospital, with brother, Richard, and friend, Richard Cotton.
Andy and Nancy were high school sweethearts and were married on July 27, 1968. Shortly afterward daughter, Tiffani, and sons Tim and Jon were added to the family. The family attended Woods Chapel Baptist Church, where they met and became friends with Bobby Bridges, pastor.
Possessing only a high school diploma, Andy went on to teach computer science at Rutherford Business College. After various jobs in the computer field, he founded Metro Software Consultants, with friend Gary Svehlak. Later, he and Gary opened two Home Cleaning Centers of America in Lewisville and Frisco.
Andy and Nancy loved to travel and became especially fond of cruising. Their first cruise took them to Alaska and they were hooked. They spent many happy days cruising to various ports of call.
Andy and Nancy joined Saint Barnabas UMC a few years back and Andy helped in the Feeding Frenzy ministry to Martin High students. He was the dishwasher, a very hard job which no one wanted, but like he said, "Someone had to do it." That was pretty much the story of his life. Always lending a hand, seldom thinking of himself, but of the needs of others. He spent countless hours at Mansfield Medical Lodge, visiting, playing Yahtzee and helping with his sister and other residents whose faces lit up when they saw him.
Gone before him are his parents, Grandson Nick, brother Richard, and nephew, Shane.
Andy is survived by wife, Nancy, daughter, Tiffani, sons Tim (Melissa) and Jon, and many relatives and friends. He has 6 Grands who he loves dearly, Nick (1989-2007), Chloe (Jeff), Christina, James, Mason, and Julia. Greatgrands (what an added bonus) include Jack, Henry, and arriving in October, Jett Andrew Lee.
As a Christian, one of his and Nancy's favorite bible verses was "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart. Lean not into thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall guide thy path." Proverbs 3: 5-6
Andy, we will miss you.
