A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Ankeny Funeral Home, 1510 West First Street, Ankeny, Iowa 50023.
Jim graduated from Des Moines Tech in 1962, after high school, he was drafted into the U.S. Army. While in the Army, he was a hardworking, dedicated soldier and skilled mechanic. He served honorably until his discharge on the 18th of July, 1971. He met the love of his life, Christine Lynn Peterson, and they married on June 23, 1968 in Stanhope, Iowa at the Stanhope Christian Church. There were two children to this union, Bradley and David.
Jim worked at Fair Play Score Board in Des Moines, Iowa and he was a mechanic for Dewy Ford in Des Moines. Later he worked at M&M power equipment and a John Deere Dealer, Leisure Country Ltd., where he oversaw all aspects of the business. Then he worked for Mowtown Snowtown in Des Moines as their general manager and head mechanic. He then went on to work for Fire Place Super Store in Des Moines as the GM and retired in 2011, only to work 2 days a week there until he passed.
In his free time, he built custom golf clubs for many of the golfers in the Ankeny area. Out of his garage workshop not only did he build custom clubs but he repaired lawnmowers, snowmobiles, and anything with an engine or that needed to be put back together from bolts and pieces. Neighbors would give him plenty of projects. He also loved to do upgrades to his home. Jim was a hard worker who loved to help people. He was a master mechanic who was dedicated to his work and his family.
Jim is survived by his wife Christine Lynn (Peterson) Noon; children, Bradley (Misty Knight) Noon and David Noon; step-grandchildren, Katisha and Mhikealy; step-great grandchildren, McKade and Finnley; 6 siblings, Charolette Kaster, Larry J. (Alice) Noon, Carol (Joe) Harter, Richard L. Noon, Patty Mitchell, and Dorothy Gergen; and 2 half- brothers, Carl Brent Noon and David Noon. Jim is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, JoAnn Enbusk and Fred Noon.
In loving member of Jim, memorials may be directed to the family and will be given to a charity of their choosing at a later date.
