Mervin Ethel Green, 97, of Beebe passed away May 1, 2024. He was born October 28, 1926 in Utica, Mississippi to the late Willie and Annie (Curtis) Green. In addition to his parents, Mervin was welcomed into Heaven by his wife of 48 years, Opal Green; and his siblings, Grady, Dick, Billie, Myrtle and Margie.
Mervin was a man of unwavering integrity and boundless generosity. His commitment to serving his country in the United States Air Force for over two decades exemplified his dedication and patriotism. As a retired Chief Master Sergeant and a veteran of the Korean War, he embodied courage and honor in every aspect of his life. Beyond his military service, Mervin was deeply rooted in his faith as an active member of the Beebe Church of Christ for several decades. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was hunting in the quiet woods, casting a line into a serene lake, or nurturing his beloved garden, where he meticulously tended to his cherished tomatoes. Despite his many achievements, Mervin remained humble and approachable, always willing to lend a helping hand or share a warm smile. His love for music, instilled by his mother, was evident as he pursued piano lessons in his later years, a testament to his lifelong pursuit of knowledge and self-improvement. Mervin's greatest pride and joy were his family, whom he cherished above all else. As the proud patriarch of five generations, his love and wisdom will continue to resonate through the lives of those he held dear.
Those left to cherish the memories of Mervin include the four generations that will continue his legacy: his children, Randy (Donna) Green, Paula Harrison, Dale Scroggins, Kim (Raymond) Beaty, and Cynthia (Don) Beck; grandchildren, Michelle, Randy Jr., Amanda, Christian, Dorian (Daralynn), Galen, Morgan (Amber), Loriann (Scott), Janie (Tristen), Erin (Grady), Joshua (Sayer) and Holly (Josiah); great-grandchildren, Kierstin, Kayla, Kaitlin, Austin, AshLee, Britney, Tyler, Ronan, Scarlett, Kashmire, Ian, Easton, Emmy, Addie, Paige, Tenley, Hudson, Connor, Shayla, Nivea, Kalea, Enzo, Finlay, Marigold, Sunny, and Tucker; and great-great-grandchildren, Oliver, Karson, Addelyn, Evan, Brailynn, Kaison, Kaden and Julian.
