Raylene was surrounded by those who loved her in her final hours, including her children, sisters, brother-in-law, nieces, and nephew.
The daughter of Joseph and Florence (MacNeil) Hureau, Raylene was born on September 23, 1949, in Sydney. She was a graduate of Holy Angels High School.
Raylene was a long-time resident of Orchard Park in Coxheath and was well taken care of by her wonderful neighbours.
She worked at Walmart in Sydney River for 25 years before retiring in 2021. She loved and was loved by her Walmart family.
Before and after her retirement, ‘Nanny’ could be found traveling to Alberta and Ontario to spend time with her children and grandchildren, whom she dearly loved.
Whether it was at the hockey rink or courtside, she was their biggest cheerleader. She loved to celebrate all of their successes and achievements.
Back at home, Raylene enjoyed road trips with her sisters, game nights with her nieces and nephews, family gatherings, and annual craft fairs.
She is survived by her loving children, Donald (Julia), David (Amy), and Charlene (Richard Beeler); her grandchildren – Emma, Braydon, Brynn, and Charlee; her sisters, Ann Robertson and Andre (John) Tobin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by the love of her life, her husband, Charles ‘Chickie’ MacIntyre, her parents, Joseph and Florence (MacNeil) Hureau, and her sister Margaret Jurcina.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at TW Curry Parkview Chapel, 755 George St, Sydney, Nova Scotia on Monday May 20 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A Funeral Service will be held on May 21, 10:00am at TW Curry Parkview Chapel with Fr. Paul Murphy Officiating. Burial to take place following Funeral Service at Resurrection Cemetery in Sydney Forks.
