Stephen Edward "Steve" Belviy, age 83, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, the former Dora Ann Worden, and his brother, Robert R. "Bob" Belviy of Scottsburg. He retired from Jim O'Neal Ford after 40 years in sales and sales management. He was a 1958 graduate of New Albany High School, attended the University of Louisville and Indiana University Southeast, was a licensed real estate agent with River Hills Reality until 2003, served in the Army National Guard of Indiana as a medical specialist for 6 years, and was a past board member of the Floyd County Conservation Club. He was also a member of the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA), the National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA), and the American Cutting Horse Association (ACHA). Steve competed in cutting competitions and also bred the 2000-2001 ACHA Open World Champion Cutting Horse, Doc Floyd. He also enjoyed enjoyed trail riding, hunting, and fishing.
Steve's visitation will be 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm Sunday, May 19th and 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Monday, May 20th at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150. His funeral service will be 3:00 pm Monday, May 20th at the funeral home chapel. Steve will be laid to rest in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150. The family requests expressions of Sympathy to Hosparus of Southern Indiana.
