On Saturday, May 11, 2023, God in his eternal wisdom and grace heard the words whispered softly, “I Am Weary and Oh So Tired”, and because of His great love, tender mercy, and compassion, our Lord and Savior opened His arms and received His earthly Angel, Nan Thomas into His Heavenly Kingdom.
Nan Thomas was born July 23, 1962, in Dallas, Texas, to the proud parents, Annie Mae and Obie Lee Allen, both preceded her in death.
She accepted Christ at the early age of 13 and was baptized at Bon Air Baptist Church, Dallas, Texas. Later in her adult life she fellowshipped with Spread the Word Ministries E. Zion A.M.E., Garland, Texas.
To further her education, she graduated from Wilmer Hutchins High School, then attended Paul Quinn, where she took courses to become a Beautician.
For over 30 years Nan, was a wonderful niece and devoted caregiver for her Aunt Mary Lee Bolts, who preceded her in death,
Nan lived a quiet life yet packed with so much love. To know her was to LOVE her, she had a big heart and all who were fortunate to cross her path could feel her warmth and soft-spoken kind words. Her conversations always ended with “Love ya to BONE, BONE, BONE!”
She was preceded in death by her husband Leon, her parents, and her three brothers, Norman Hampton, Alexander Hampton and Danny Ray Hampton.
She leaves to cherish her legacy and memories: Two beautiful daughters; Ceanna Sutton (Nate) and Leanna Thomas, Four grandchildren, Brandon (BJ), Naryia, Zaryia and Heaven. Two sisters; Sandra Milton (Rubin), Alice Fay Campbell (Vincent). Three brothers; James Hampton Jr. (Anne), Milton Lee Hampton and HB Qualls and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
